  • Purpose and Scope

    The incumbent delivers at a high level of competency within the Employee Performance and Support (EPS) Department. The incumbent assesses and performs analysis on data, and prepares data to facilitate the continuous improvement functions of organization. Responsibilities require understanding of both theory and practice.

    Essential Job Functions

    1. Develops and applies solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and competency in Performance Management.
    2.  Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques and provides ongoing reports. Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets.
    3. Determines type, scope, and purpose of analyses through discussions with management. May lead a team in the effort. Works with other analysts and management to complete assigned project work.
    4.  Assists with the analytical agenda for the Employee Performance and Support (EPS) team by identifying and reporting on key measures of success for district priority areas. Maintains the metrics dashboards for district teams and priority areas, and to ensure the most strategic metrics are reviewed frequently.
    5. Deals with complex problems and provide solutions that are innovative and ingenious, achieving quality and work process improvements. May ensure that the workgroup’s goals and activities are in synch with and support the broader goals and objectives of the organization; and that the execution of responsibilities are in accordance to lawful and ethical standards. Draws insights into potential issues or opportunities for improvement based on data analysis and metrics.
    6. Directs and assists in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned service, activities, and operations; provides for appropriate research and compiles reports, as needed.

     

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Human Resources, Business Administration, or closely related field required.

    Three (3) years of related job experience required.

    Seven (7) years of related job experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

    Experience developing analysis and handling large data sets and experience developing materials which explain the analysis, and are easy to understand.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to swiftly and accurately understand complex data and perform analysis
    • Skill in developing data-supported solutions and using fact-based logic; ability to translate complex analysis in easy-to-understand manner and present to a broad audience
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to tackle the operational challenges of the merged school district in a complex, changing political and educational environment
    • Ability to manage daily administrative tasks without losing sight of long-term goals and planning.
    • Ability to draw insight from analysis output
    • Strong analytical skills, including expertise in statistical software and Excel, and ability to communicate data effectively

    Physical Requirements and Working Environment

    Physical Demands: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment; must be able to use hands and fingers for sign language.

    Unavoidable Hazards:  The position is exposed to no unusual environmental hazards.

    Sensory (ADA) Requirements: The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities.
