Purpose and Scope

The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide training in EasyIEP and all components to teachers, special education and building administrators, counselors, psychologists, and others. Special Education knowledge base Teacher/User support is provided through call-ins, emails, faxed requests, and drop-in and arranged visits for one-on-one assistance. Special education supervisors are provided support and assistance with staffing reports and class rolls. The position provides professional development and in-service presentations. The position is also responsible for EasyIEP program updates and revisions, troubleshooting, and maintaining/monitoring data integrity which impacts Federal, State, and local reporting and funding for special education services; provides assistance with monitoring equipment concerns, and related duties. The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

Essential Job Functions

1.Delivers training in EasyIEP and all components including refresher classes, to Special Education Supervisors and Coordinators, School Psychologists, School Counselors, Principals and Assistant Principals, and related service providers. Plans and develops training material and presentations. 2.Provides administrative support for all training scheduling classes, reserving space, entering classes in Avatar, preparation of registration material, registration of attendees, and preparation and disbursement of certifications completion. Assigns credit for training in Avatar for completion of classes. 3.Provides Teacher/User support, utilizing special education knowledge base, addressing questions and problems and providing resolution through MCS Help Desk, e-mail requests, faxed requests, and drop-in or arranged visits for one-on-one assistance.4.Assists users in solving problems related to development of compliant Individual Education Plans and accurate use of EasyIEP and production of compliant documentation for Exceptional Children as required by Federal, State, and local law and regulations. 5.Provides Supervisor/User support through assistance with staffing reports and class rolls and with resolution of assorted data issues.6.Provides professional development/in-service presentations through staff meeting presentations, Special Education In-Services and participation in Supervisors? Staff Meetings/Work Sessions.7.Advises concerning program updates and revisions and makes recommendations on program enhancements and/or improvements. Ensures on-going communication with vendor and reports system bugs to vendor for resolution.8.Develops resolution to specific user problems and EasyIEP issues/concerns and submits recommendations for solution of issues.9.Maintains data integrity through adjustment of class rolls for student movement, procedural assistance with data entry, editing student records, generating, repots, etc. Assists with data clean-up and corrections for Easyfax files, transportation report checks TEIDS imports, and "no case managers" notations.10.Creates reports concerning data integrity and monitors data integrity on a continuous basis. 11.Participates in continuous training and professional development through on-going raining/updates with vendor; 12.Participates in program updates and issues through conference call participation with State Department of Education and vendor. Keeps abreast of any changes that could affect the program and takes necessary action.13.Addresses equipment concerns through inventory of teacher computer/printer needs and continuous evaluation of equipment needs for repair, replacement, and/or upgrades. Notifies appropriate staff for ordering.14.Maintains Transportation Program entering all users in program and trains new users on the process; Provides assistance with entering transportation request when needed.15.Completes the address validation procedure when requested for the Chancery SMS Data Management System to ensure special handling when students not enrolled at home school. 16.Provides assistance to all users of EasyIEP with usernames and passwords; activates inactive students for General and Special Education Users. Offers general assistance with e-mail for Special Education Teachers. 17.Retrieves data from Infohandler Archived Data when requested or needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and current Tennessee teaching certification in Special Education; requires five (5) years of experience in teaching special education.

Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor's Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master's Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master's degrees are required, years for Bachelor's degrees must be included.
