The essential function of the position within the organization is to perform semi-skilled work in the operation of light, medium and large trucks, trailers, tractor trailers, and other related equipment to pick-up and deliver materials and equipment necessary for various assignments. Work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of a vehicle and for conducting routine preventive maintenance checks. Work is performed under the direct supervision and is reviewed for compliance with specific work instructions, safety and rules and regulations.
The position of Mechanic I – Certified works under the direction of the Distribution Area Supervisor and the General Services Supervisor to perform skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of District vehicles. The position is responsible for diagnosing malfunctions, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure safe operating condition, maintaining tools and equipment, and performing related work as assigned. The position works under general supervisions according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.
The Freezer Distribution Associate maintains and recommends changes to inventory control systems regarding receipts and processing inventory stock. Responsible for keeping inventory accurate in First In, First Out (FIFO) order and notifies management of discrepancies. Assists in the preparation of inventory related reports, answers routine queries and supports Warehouse Operations and Shipping.
The Food Quality Associates works under the direction of the Food Safety & Control Manager. This position will assist in maintaining, documenting changes, weekly cycle counts to the inventory control system for all food and raw materials received during inbound shipment retrieval and for completion of the weekly expiration report. The position assists with implementing, monitoring, and maintaining divisional Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with state, local, and federal requirements regarding safe food handling practices; and assesses the quality and safety of products received in the warehouse.
Works under limited supervision to provide support for developing, documenting, monitoring, and verifying that Occupational Health and Safety procedures are compliant throughout various Nutrition Services facilities & district school cafeterias and meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. Works under limited supervision to provide high-level support forcoordination of all food safety activities in the Central Nutrition Cafeteria & district school cafeterias. Strategically collaboratesacross all departments to ensure all food safety standards and requirements meet Memphis Shelby County Health Department, State of Tennessee Health Codes, and United States Department of Agriculture & Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines. The position of Coordinator - Nutrition Mobile works under the direction of the Manager- Field Operations to coordinator, deliver and prepare breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks for Charter and MSCS sites in a prompt and timely manner. In addition, this position is responsible for off-site inventory accountability; and ensures clean, sanitary, and safe work environment and provides professional customer services among off-site administrators and staff.
The position of Server Support – Central Kitchen works under the direction of the Supervisor – Central Kitchen to assist in ensuring the production of nutritious meals in a clean and sanitary work area for the students of Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS). This position is responsible for performing duties in food manufacturing, processing and packaging of large quantities of school food service meals; and may be required to assist Supervisor – Central Kitchen with preparing and serving community partners and charter sites as related to school visits and special events.
Ensures the efficient operation of the school cafeteria; supervises staff; orders foods and supplies; oversees food planning, preparation and service; supervises point-of-sale terminal operation and financial reporting, and performs related work as required. May provide food services for one or more satellite site/ sites and/or operates a cluster school/ schools or a high volume location. Ensures compliance with all applicable District and Board policies and procedures and State, Federal regulations.
