The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide counseling and guidance to students with alcohol and drug use/abuse problems. The position is responsible for conducting diagnostic student assessments, providing individual and group counseling, working as a team member to ensure optimal academic and social achievement for students, maintaining case files, and performing related work as required.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in a Mental Health related field and requires four (4) years of experience with demonstrated expertise in the area of alcohol and drug abuse prevention and/or treatment, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience; requires licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health.
