SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The essential function of the position within the organization is performs journeyman level work in the repair of mason structures or the erection of new mason structures requiring the use of materials, such as stone, brick, concrete, artificial stone, or related masonry materials.

1.Lays building materials, such as bricks, structural tile, concrete cinder, and other materials, to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, sewers, and other structures.
2.Mixes mortar to proper consistency for jointing brick and other materials together.
3.Applies mortar to brick and other materials.
4.Break bricks and other material to proper size for fitting.
5.Repairs and finishes mortar joints between stones or bricks of masonry wall.
6.Removes old mortar from joints and trowels new mortar into joints.
7.Works in precarious or unusual positions, such as block and tackle scaffolding and ladders.
8.Uses specialized and common tools.
9.Cleans work area.
10.May be required to assist in the training of an apprentice.
11.Responds to emergency situations when requested.
12.Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED. Must have 4 years? experience as a commercial bricklayer.
