Purpose and Scope

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

 

The essential function of the position is to coordinate and provide graphic services including concept development and the design and production of print and electronic materials.

Essential Job Functions

1.Receive and process work requests and assist the Internal Communications Manager in establishing project priorities and schedules.

2.Assist in planning, developing, designing and producing a wide range of art layouts for print and visual materials such as newsletters, brochures, booklets, cover designs, annual reports, catalogs, posters, advertisements for publications, logos, letterhead, fliers and certificates.

3.Prepare electronic graphics such as PowerPoint presentations as needed by administrative personnel and Board Commissioners.

4.Provide graphic design support for internet websites; monitor and maintain inventory of graphic production supplies.

5.Coordinate with Printing Services personnel to produce printed materials for clients as needed; ensures completion of projects within established deadlines.

6.Use approved computer platform and software to prepare graphics, page layouts, photo manipulation and other products.

7.Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of graphics production equipment and make recommendations for upgrade, replacement or repair as needed.

8.Coordinate the work of photographers and volunteers as needed for special projects.

9.Perform general administrative work as required, including preparing correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone, receiving and responding to e-mails and faxes, attending meetings.

10. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, commercial art or related field plus 2 years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of 6 years. Expert proficiency with page layout and other digital software including Adobe Photoshop, Quark Xpress and PowerPoint, and other equipment and software common to a graphic production facility. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree=6 years plus required years of experience.
