SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

 

The Inventory Associate plays an essential role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of Nutrition Services Inventory Management System and is tasked with the responsibility of tracking and documenting all stock movements.   Ensures that inventory levels are consistently updated and accurately reflect what is available in the warehouse, by conducting regular audits and reconciliations.  Assist with minimizing discrepancies, instrumental with providing the necessary data to make informed purchasing decisions and optimize stock levels, which contributes to the overall operational success of Nutrition Services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible for verifying purchase orders, bill of lading and delivery schedules.
  2. Maintains and recommends changes to inventory control systems for all raw and finished materials; ensure the accuracy of inventory constantly and notifies customers of any inventory shortages.
  3. Ensures that all inventory transactions are properly documented in accordance with standard operating procedures and UDSA guidelines.
  4. Research and provide explanations for any discrepancies and suggest corrections.
  5. Provides management with common errors affecting inventory accuracy and suggests process improvements to management that will reduce errors rates.
  6. Supports cross-functional teams to investigate, analyze and make recommendations to leadership on current strategic or operational issues relating to inventory control, levels and accuracy.
  7. Assists and recommends solutions to complex problem which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and competency in gathering and interpreting business rules and requirements for inventory validation and end-user reporting in the warehouse system.
  8. Perform accurate stock counts and update inventory records to reflect current stock levels.
  9. Receive and process incoming stock, verify quantities and quality, and enter data into the inventory management system.
  10. Label and organize inventory in the warehouse to ensure easy access and accurate tracking.
  11. Coordinate with Supply Chain department to reorder low-stock items and manage inventory levels efficiently.
  12. Prepare delivery tickets for shipment, ensuring the correct items and quantities are sent to customers.
  13. Handle returns and exchanges, maintain quality hold items and update the inventory management system accordingly.
  14. Perform routine audits of inventory to identify discrepancies and take corrective actions to resolve issues.
  15. Implement loss prevention measures by monitoring inventory for signs of theft or damage and reporting findings to management.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education. Three (3) to Five (5) years of Inventory, Shipping, and Receiving experience. Experience driving a forklift, certification a plus. Able to read and interpret documents such as labels, work instructions and safety rules. Knowledge of manufacturing software including ERP systems.

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree=6 years plus required years of experience
