Purpose and Scope

 

The position of Coordinator - Nutrition Mobile works under the direction of the Manager- Field Operations to coordinator, deliver and prepare breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks for Charter and MSCS sites in a prompt and timely manner.  In addition, this position is responsible for off-site inventory accountability; and ensures clean, sanitary, and safe work environment and provides professional customer services among off-site administrators and staff.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Coordinates the delivery of meals for Charter School sites and selected community partners in administering the following programs (National School Lunch Program which includes Breakfast and Lunch, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) & Snacks).
  2. Prepares food items and line set-up, checking menus and following work schedules; reads and follows recipes and/or instructions for preparing pre-portioned items; assembling ingredients and utensils; cooking, serving, and clean up; and assembles bag lunches and preparing snacks for school programs as required. 
  3. Ensures Nutrition Services vehicle is properly maintained by monitoring fluid levels and tire pressure or any engine warning signs are reported to Field Operations Manager; and ensures vehicle is properly secured and cleaned prior to turning in keys at Building Office; and follows Risk Management and Nutrition Service guidelines on the use and care of district owned vehicles. 
  1. Prepares and completes required paperwork for the NSLP, SBP, and CACFP including monitoring completeness and accuracy of the daily meal count, entering summary counts on Meal Count Tracker, production records, and temperature logs; and reviews and collects accountability records; and assists community partners with recordkeeping
  2. Prepares and assists with breakfast and lunch for Charter School or any other partnering agency. 
  3. Monitors and records cooking times and temperatures to ensure thorough heating as required for consumer safety under HAACP regulations. 
  4. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food preparation, serving and storage areas; establishes and maintains records necessary for the proper control of equipment and supplies as provided by CNC for all Community partners and Charter sites; and assists in stocking supplies and monitors inventory and rotates food products as scheduled. 
  5. Serves as cashier when operating a point-of-sale terminal and collecting funds, as needed. 
  6. Performs all duties in compliance with school, District and Health Department policies, TN Department of Human Services procedures, and standards of quality and safety. 
  7. Maintains regular communication with Field Operations Manager to keep informed of operations, concerns or needs, and planning for future activities or events.
  8. Works with School Nurses and therapists to maintain current information regarding student allergies and dietary requirements medically indicated.
  9. Prepares accurate work records as required; and enters and retrieves computer data as needed. 
  10. Attends training and meetings as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills. 
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires High School diploma or GED plus four (4) years’ experience of quantity food preparation or related experience. Must test negative on TB (tuberculosis) skin test. Must possess a valid driver’s license, with a clean motor vehicle report. Must be able to drive a Shelby County Schools cargo van. ServSafe Manager Certification required or complete and pass certification exam within 6 months of employment. Must possess a valid driver’s license. 

(PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
