The Senior Advisor - IT Applications position will provide strategic technical guidance and mentorship to the team. This role will lead the day-to-day support of the district's software systems and will be responsible for overseeing the integration between the systems and various business applications, facilitating seamless data transfers and process automation. In addition to resolving issues, the candidate will assess and tackle technical and application-related challenges associated with the district's applications, delivering advanced support to business users. This role will mentor the team supporting the district applications. The role will also involve process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance workflows within the systems, and driving the implementation of best practices throughout the team.

1. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to application support teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance in support of district-wide technology initiatives.
2. Monitor and report monthly KPIs on support tickets and work requests, delivering insights to district leadership to improve the performance and responsiveness of application services.
3. Collaborate with departments such as instruction, business services, procurement, and finance to support digital transformation efforts and enhance operational efficiency across the district.
4. Lead regular reviews of application support activity, identifying trends and recommending process improvements to better meet the needs of schools, staff, and administrators.
5. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for education-focused applications, ensuring alignment with district goals, student outcomes, and emerging technologies.
6. Coordinate with third-party vendors, educational software providers, and internal stakeholders to design and implement system enhancements and integrations that support instructional and administrative functions.
7. Ensure adherence to software development lifecycle (SDLC), change control processes, and district governance standards, maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
8. Act as a trusted advisor to school and department leaders, providing guidance on application best practices, integration strategies, and technology adoption.
9. Evaluate the impact of technology changes across schools and departments, developing actionable plans to ensure successful adoption, training, and minimal disruption.
10. Conduct detailed business and systems analysis to gather functional requirements, define technical specifications, and develop solutions that support the district’s long-term technology strategy.
11. Translate educational and administrative requirements into technical documentation, working closely with curriculum leaders, school staff, and IT teams to ensure effective implementation.
12. Lead the planning and execution of enterprise application upgrades and lifecycle maintenance, ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and responsive to district needs.
13. Support the full lifecycle of district applications, including student information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), financial systems, and HR platforms.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned, in support of district operations, technology strategy, and educational outcomes.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Services or similar field plus five (5) years related experience, for a total education/experience of nine (9) years; or nine (9) years technical experience with ERP systems. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
