Purpose and Scope

Delivers a high level of competency in student information management and compliance of state-mandated reporting. Assesses and performs analysis on data, and prepares data to facilitate and assist in ensuring compliance with state-mandated reporting functions of the organization. Responsibilities require an understanding of both theory and practice.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Collaborates with supervisor and other District staff to develop short and long-range plans for assigned program or functional area.
  2.  Researches and explore the feasibility of implementing new   methods, technologies or programs.
  3.  Develops, schedules, implements, monitors and evaluates all programs, projects, and operations in the area of responsibility.
  4. Researches, compiles data and prepares various statistical, administrative and/or financial reports as required.
  5. Implements procedures for monitoring, analyzing and determining appropriate corrective actions to ensure accurate student information system (PowerSchool SMS) data and Educational Information System (EIS) data.
  6.  Provides group and one-on-one training and support to school and District personnel in the use of the student information system, its related components, and EIS; prepares training instructions and manuals.
  7.  Assists in resolving enrollment issues with school principals as necessary; collaborate as needed with appropriate District departments/divisions in resolving discrepancies in student reporting to the TDOE.
  8.  Assists with the district’s online registration by providing support and program benefits to parents, schools and community
  9.  Assists with the General Choice student transfer system
  10.  Works with recruitment staff to coordinate assigned activities with those of other programs, departments, and outside agencies and organizations
  11.  Responsible for conducting training to school personnel, including multi-campus support during registration, special events and other peak times
  12.  Collects and maintains registration data and provides analytical reports for review 
  13.  Applies federal, state, local and institutional laws, regulations and policies; performs all functions within FERPA compliance (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
  14.  Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. 

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Management, or a related area plus an additional 2 years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of 6 years. Valid state driver's license required.  (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included. 

Additional Job Details

This position will have a strong focus on improving student attendance and supporting school-based efforts to reduce chronic absenteeism. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of expertise in utilizing PowerSchool and PowerBI for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making support. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail while managing multiple priorities.
