Purpose and Scope

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

 

The essential function of the position within the organization is to monitor and approve entry into five large school campus on Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) property.  This position must provide monitoring of the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems throughout MSCS district daily and during athletic event when needed.  This position must provide a minor level of technical support to trouble shoot and maintain the CCTV Systems problems.  This position must be able to communicate with both verbal and non-verbal speaking students, staff and visitors.  This position must be able to read and understand blue prints and have knowledge at all times of their assigned schools building.  This position must work closely with the school principal and administrators daily.  This position must successfully complete all systems and communication trainings annually.

  1. Provides on-site support and training to customers in both administrative and instructional settings when needed.
  2. Monitors MSCS CCTV Systems on a daily basis.
  3. Reports any problems to the supervisor and follows up on the necessary repairs.
  4. Understand and communicate daily with verbal and non-verbal staff, students and visitors.
  5. Communicates daily complications to the system with principal, administrative staff, students, or visitors to the school in question.
  6. Maintains accurate records when reporting daily activity and/or equipment problems.
  7. Ensures the prompt and professional completion of all work received with minimal downtime for system and documents all assigned projects
  8. Communicates with vendors to secure assistance in resolving difficulties and expedite delivery when needed.
  9. Works with all Law Enforcement Agencies throughout Shelby County to ensure the chain of custody for evidence requested is not broken.
  10. Performs all duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, specifications, applicable codes and ordinances.
  11. Abides by standards of quality and safety.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a High School diploma or GED plus an additional 2 years related experience for a total education/experience of 2 years.  Successful completion of all training requirements.  Associate degree and previous Closed Circuit Television experience preferred. 

Must be certified in the Ingress Protection (IP) IX Series IP video intercom system as well as successful completion of the standardized sign language class. 

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
