Purpose and Scope

The position of CCTE Compliance Specialist is to ensure that the operations section of the Career and Technology Education Department, District personnel, teachers and students follow all relevant legal internal and external rules and regulations relative to adherence of Carl Perkins V mandates.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Review and set standards for the dissemination of policies and procedures related to compliance.
  2. Collaborating with District departments to ensure the implementation of consistent actions and strategies for compliance standards.
  3. Providing training and advice to College Career and Technical Education employees and staff on areas of compliance.
  4. Keeping up to date with, and understanding, relevant laws and regulations.
  5. Follow and help implement effective compliance programs.
  6. Conduct periodic annual reviews to ensure compliance procedures are followed.
  7. Conduct or direct investigation of compliance issues.
  8. Assess compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.
  9. Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.
  10. Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
  11. Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management about suspected unethical or illegal activities.
  12. Verify that regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration or other related field, plus an additional 2 years related experience, for a total education/experience of 6 years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
