Purpose and Scope

The position of Program Project Assistant – CCTE provides highly and specialized support to an assigned supervisor, CCTE staff, and teachers in assigned career and technical program areas. The position is responsible for assisting staff and teachers by preparing and processing records and reports, managing systems, representing the department to the public providing professional, courteous customer service at all times, and performing essential duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Provides professional development and direct support to ensure the effective implementation of the Carl Perkins Annual Local Plan, educational equipment/resource guidelines, Advisory Boards, Work-Based Learning Activities, Post-secondary Partnerships, Industry Partnerships, CCR, and CTSOs.
  2. Assists in providing support and resources to administrators, staff, parents, students, school sites, and outside agencies (as appropriate) in areas related to a specific program or project; independently resolve issues or concerns.
  3. Assists advisors in planning and implementing various programs, special projects, activities, and services as assigned; may independently coordinate assigned programs or projects.
  4. Monitors reports and records related to program/project activities; receive documentation from various program-related sources (i.e., school sites) to inform professional development and instructional support; and treat confidential information appropriately.
  5. Attends meetings; provides support to various committees and task forces as required, may represent advisors at various meetings or Advisory Boards as designated.
  6. Receives, researches and responds to inquiries, requests for assistance and concerns from school administrators, teachers, other District departments, agencies, organizations, professionals, students, parents and the public; assists advisors in coordinating division and program activities as appropriate.
  7. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.
  8. Attends professional development, meetings, seminars and/or workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  9. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree or the equivalent of two (2) years of college or vocational school education in secretarial science, office administration, human services, business or related field PLUS two (2) years of related experience in related field; OR an equivalent combination or related education and experience totaling four (4) years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
