Purpose and Scope

Delivers at a high level of competency in JROTC training and curriculum, developing the annual training schedule and curriculum for the entire Army JROTC for the district. Responsibilities require understanding of both theory and practice.  

Essential Job Functions

  1. Organizes, coordinates and directs the major curricula and co-curricula activities and inter unit competitions for the school battalions.
  2. Oversees, reviews, and approves expenditures for the area of responsibility; provides fiscal data for preparation of the annual budget.
  3. Collaborates with supervisor and other District staff to develop short and long-range plans for assigned program or functional area.
  4. Conducts planning and coordination required to conduct Junior ROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge and JROTC Summer Camp.
  5. Recommends changes and provides suggested solutions to the LET Program of Instruction (POI). Researches and explores feasibility of implementing new methods, technologies or programs.
  6. Research, compiles data for, and prepares various statistical, administrative and/or financial reports as required.
  7. Acts as the JROTC information technology POC. Develops training plans for instructors on the army operational software systems and maintains and monitors the operations of the army issued computer hardware.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, or other related field plus an additional 2 years Junior ROTC Instructional experience, or equivalent, for a combined total education/experience of 6 years. Must be a certified JROTC instructor and be retired in the grades of E-7 through E-9. Driver's license required. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

  • Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience.
  • Master’s Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience.
  • Where Master’ degrees are required, years for Bachelor’ Degrees must be included.
