Purpose and Scope

The Federal Programs Advisor demonstrates a high level of expertise in ensuring compliance with federal programs, in alignment with state and federal regulations. The Federal Programs Advisor will also address challenges and develop innovative, effective solutions that drive significant improvements in work processes and overall quality. 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Works collaboratively with District departments to support implementation of Title I programs.
  2. Provides continuous support to school planning teams on the development and review of the annual school improvement plan, school-parent compact and family engagement plans.
  3. Conducts monthly and quarterly Title I meetings with appropriate school staff to review Federal and State updates to ensure compliance with Title I guidelines.
  4. Supports the alignment of school improvement and turnaround grant funds, when applicable, to the school improvement plan.
  5. Monitor requisitions and spending of Title I funds to ensure proper closeout and justification of all Title I purchases as well as monitor compliance documents for accuracy.
  6. Collaborates with school level teams on results-based monitoring by reviewing and collecting artifacts and facilitating departmental support for other ESSA programs.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or other relevant areas, plus five (5) years related experience for a total education/experience of nine (9) years. Requires a valid state driver's license. Beginning Administrator License (BAL), Professional Administrator License (PAL) or administration/supervision or instructional supervisor endorsement is preferred. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
