Purpose and Scope

The CCTE Project Specialist position is responsible for providing direct support and technical assistance to teachers that supports instruction and student achievement. This position requires knowledge of career and technical education programming and course standards and the ability to assist in the delivery of instructional and extended classroom services at the local school and district level. The position will support 20 or more schools offering CTE programs.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Assists with CCTE districtwide special projects assigned by the CCTE Director, to include: Student follow-up, Internship Programs, Career Expos, industry tours, student career assessments, academic remediation and interpreting services for EL students, specialized support for special populations, non-traditional students; and instructional workforce-related programs and projects; may serve as the contact person for the division's workforce placements.
  2. Assists teachers with special projects and processes to help collect and track related data for initiatives designed to improve student learning and other related workforce outcome indicators.
  3. Serves as CCTE representative to assist with recruitment and placement of CCTE students aligned to their POS for the MSCS Summer Internship Program.
  4. Provides support to teachers and students to ensure proper use and maintenance of instructional equipment and safety factors for required competency attainment.
  5. Assists teachers with the collection of data and information for district and SSQI compliance and reports.
  6. Assists other CCTE staff with professional development activities for district personnel and teachers as it relates to assigned special programs and projects.
  7. Assists other CCTE staff in providing teacher orientation to the instructional lab environment.
  8. Performs all other related duties assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration or other related field; PLUS, two (2) years related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education/experience totaling six (6) years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
