Purpose and Scope

The Manager – Programs and Services CCTE is responsible for ensuring the management and support of all CCTE instructional and Work Based Learning (WBL) programs in the district. The Manager position reports directly to the College Career and Technical Education Director and provides supervision for the implementation of instructional programs and supportive services. The position is responsible for supporting the overall Department programs that lead to the improvement of overall school performance for all CCTE school programs. This position provides information to the Director and support staff on how the implementation of school support programs are working and supports the continuous improvement and matriculation of middle school students in CCTE programs high school, post-secondary programs and career opportunities.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Provides professional direction in the coordination and alignment of support programs and implementations for all CCTE programs, including the appropriate use of support personnel.
  2. Collaborates with the CCTE director and other district departments to develop short and long-range plans for CCTE programming, especially in Focus and Priority schools.
  3. Ensures adherence to all pertinent policies and procedures, laws and regulations, codes and ordinances and standards of quality and safety; provides support to all schools regarding compliance issues, both state and local (district policies, ESSA and Perkins guidelines).
  4. Coordinates department cross-content walkthroughs at schools.
  5. Attend meetings, trainings, seminars, and conferences as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  6. Coordinates assigned activities with those of other departments, agencies, consultants, outside professionals and service providers, community resources and others as necessary.
  7. Assists in planning and conducting professional development classes, training, and/or seminars in the areas of CCTE curriculum, instruction, assessment, advanced academics, and other topics as needed as part of the campus and/or the district’s professional development plan.
  8. Assists the College Career and Technical Education (CCTE) Director in collaboration among students, staff, parents, community and in the development of a mission for the assigned programs in accordance with the district and state goals and objectives.
  9. Establishes standards and effectively select candidates, trains, motivates, delegates, monitors and evaluate performance to ensure targets and goals are met.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or other related field, plus an additional seven (7) years related experience; OR a total combination of education/experience of eleven (11) years. Must possess a valid Tennessee School Administrator’s license, along with other certifications as required by state and local policies (e.g., Tennessee professional teacher’s license). (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
