Purpose and Scope

The Advisor for Employee Performance and Support provides expert advisory services to support the effective implementation and compliance of employee performance evaluation processes for instructional and non‑instructional employees. This position partners with building leaders, supervisors, and other district stakeholders to monitor evaluation completion, answer questions, and provide guidance in accordance with state laws and district policies. The Advisor applies professional judgment, policy expertise, and data-informed practices to promote consistency, accuracy, and accountability in employee evaluation practices across the district.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Provides advisory leadership, professional judgment, and subject‑matter expertise in employee performance and evaluation processes, supporting leaders and stakeholders with complex questions and scenarios.
  2. Works collaboratively with building leaders and supervisors to support effective implementation of performance evaluation processes and ensure shared understanding of expectations, requirements, and timelines.
  3. Supports the implementation and ongoing use of district performance evaluation systems for instructional and non‑instructional employees, ensuring alignment with state requirements, district policies, and established procedures.
  4. Ensures compliance with state and district evaluation requirements by monitoring evaluation completion, identifying gaps, and following up with building leaders and supervisors to support timely and accurate completion.
  5. Serves as a key point of contact for all stakeholders by answering questions related to employee evaluations and providing clear guidance based on state laws, district policies, procedures, and evaluation expectations.
  6. Promotes accurate, complete, and consistent evaluation documentation by supporting leaders with documentation standards and addressing inconsistencies or compliance concerns.
  7. Reviews evaluation data and trends to identify compliance issues, inform recommendations, and support continuous improvement of employee performance evaluation practices.
  8. Provides training, consultation, and ongoing communication to leaders, supervisors, and stakeholders regarding evaluation processes, tools, timelines, and policy interpretation.
  9. Evaluates the effectiveness of performance evaluation processes and recommends improvements based on policy updates, stakeholder feedback, and operational needs.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned in support of employee performance management initiatives and departmental objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, Education or closely related field plus an additional four (4) years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of eight (8) years. Experience as a teacher, principal, or in performance evaluation. Demonstrated ability in excellent execution and project management skills, including ability to balance the big picture with detailed steps.

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
