Purpose and Scope

Works under general direction to ensure that the charter school sector is in the top 25% of performance across the state. Assists the Manager of Organizational Quality with ensuring that the charter school sector is on track to meet its goals, all reporting requirements are met, logistics of all planned and unplanned visits are detailed and clear, and there are clear scopes and sequences for actions throughout the year. The advisor helps organize and archive data to ensure long-term success for the knowledge capacity of charters within the portfolio.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Serves as the District liaison to established charter schools to ensure charter school compliance with District operational standards and protocols; to initiate the integration of charter schools into District-wide programs; and to follow-up and troubleshoot issues and concerns.
  2. Manages and organizes cumulative data and reporting for historical archives.
  3. Works cross-functionally with District operational departments to aid charter schools in the navigation of District processes and procedures, and communications.
  4. Provides professional development, training, and/or public presentations related to areas of expertise when directed. Trains charter school staff on district compliance for food service, SMS, insurance, retirement, access to the internet, equipment, and other requirements or needs.
  5. Conducts research, report writing, process streamlining, event planning, data analysis, and other responsibilities related to charter school academic project management.
  6. Provides real-time customer service, such as receiving and responding to public inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
  7. Liaisons with various departments to ensure access and quality data in the District student information database.
  8. Creates project plans and timelines to support team priorities and goals.
  9. Creates and disseminates information and tools that empower schools to do their jobs effectively and drive the District toward District goals.
  10. Develops, schedules, implements, monitors and evaluates all programs, projects, and operations in the area of responsibility.
  11. Conducts site visits to established charter schools during the academic year to monitor school compliance issues, identify and address problem areas, and recognize achievement.
  12. Participates in charter school processes, as needed for support in historical data or review. Processes included, but are not limited to authorization, amendments, and revocation.
  13. Assists charter school’s administration in compliance with state reporting requirements, budgets, review of financial reports and audits, and review of student information including enrollment and scheduling.
  14. Researches, compiles data, and prepares various statistical, administrative, and/or financial reports, as required (i.e. Educational Priorities Document).
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Management, or related field of study; Plus, four (4) years of professional work-related experience; OR, an equivalent combination of related education and experience that totals eight (8) years. Charter SCHOOL experience is preferred. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
