The Project STAND Manager provides strategic leadership, oversight, and evaluation of Project STAND to advance student success, educational equity, and college and career readiness for justice-involved youth. The role leads program implementation, mentoring, and student-centered initiatives that individualize learning, strengthen student engagement, and expand equitable access to high-quality education and juvenile transition services.

1. Advances the vision and strategic priorities of the District and Student Experience Project STAND by providing leadership, counsel, planning, monitoring, and continuous improvement of departmental and program goals serving justice-involved youth.
2. Manages and oversees Project STAND’s school-based mentoring model and districtwide mentoring initiatives, ensuring the delivery of structured, high-impact mentoring supports for justice-involved, transition, at-risk, and opportunity youth.
3. Leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive summer programming for justice-involved, at-risk, and opportunity youth, with an emphasis on academic acceleration, credit recovery, workforce exposure, leadership development, and re-engagement.
4. Coordinates transition and re-entry services for justice-involved youth, including academic reintegration, individualized support planning, wraparound services, and alignment with college, career, and community readiness pathways.
5. Provides specialized leadership and support to the Senior Manager by developing and implementing productivity targets, quality benchmarks, and performance measures that contribute to systemwide policy and program development related to Student Experience-Project STAND.
6. Supports the planning, management, implementation, and evaluation of mentoring goals and objectives for justice-involved, transition, at-risk, and opportunity youth.
7. Leads and supports postsecondary planning initiatives by coordinating college exploration, career pathway alignment, credential opportunities, workforce partnerships, and re-engagement supports for disconnected youth.
8. Exercises sound judgment and initiative in accordance with applicable laws, ethical standards, and District policies and procedures to identify and address systemic barriers affecting justice-involved and at-risk youth and develop effective, constructive solutions.
9. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and District policies, procedures, and requirements related to grant-funded and academic programs.
10. Supports the supervision and development of assigned staff by assisting with recruitment, training, direction, delegation, performance monitoring, motivation, and evaluation, while providing leadership to ensure departmental goals and performance targets are achieved.
11. Assist in the management of the preparation, maintenance, and analysis of program records, narrative and statistical reports, correspondence, presentations, and related documentation, using data and research to inform continuous improvement, program effectiveness, and stakeholder reporting.
12. Models and promotes effective program management and equity-centered leadership through trauma-informed practices, data-driven decision-making, reflective practice, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Education or a related area plus an additional five (5) years related experience with at-risk youth, juvenile justice and/or Career Readiness education for a total education/experience of nine (9) years. Valid state driver’s license required. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
