Performs specialized work by assisting school teachers in instructing and supervising the activities of students to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment. The Academic and School Support Manager -Finance ensures compliance with all aspects of the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds issued through federal stimulus plans. The ESSER Programs Manager assists senior leaders and building principals with budget planning, allocation and accounting for ESSER funds. The ESSER Programs Manager monitors and maintains accurate records in compliance with state and federal fiscal record keeping requirements. This position reports directly to the Deputy Superintendent of Academics or Chief of Finance.

Responsible for three strategies identified for School-Based HIV/STD Prevention: implementing Sexual Health Education (SHE), increasing access for adolescents to Sexual Health Services (SHS), and establishing Safe and Supportive Environments (SSE). Each strategy includes program activities within three overarching domains: strengthen staff capacity, increase student access to programs and services, and engage parent and community partners.  This prevention program is funded through a cooperative agreement with the CDC Division of Adolescent School Health (DASH), and the funding supports the improvement of the health and well-being of our district’s youth by coordinating work with education agencies, health agencies, and other organizations to reduce HIV, STD, teen pregnancy, and related risk behaviors among middle and high school students.
